Vembanad Lake (Vembanad Kayal or Vembanad Kol) is the India's longest and Kerala's largest lake.It is located in Alleppy.
Vembanad wetland system covers an area over 1512 Sq Km.It 14 Km wide at its widest point.Vembanad lake is the life line of Kerala.This lake is famous for back water tourism.
Snake Boat Race(Nehru Trophy) held in every August is very famous sporting event.It is started by then Priminister of India Mr.Nehru.
