Tunnel in Malshej Ghat
Malshej Ghat is a serene, picturesque and less crowded place in Sahyadri Range of Western Ghats.It is a monsoon destination. The best time to visit this place is during monssons.During this time we will find many waterfalls & is the best time for nature lovers. One can find lush green mountain ranges of Western Ghats with milky white water falls and can drench in rain and soak under waterfalls. The area is covered by mist and fog. It could become a lifetime experience.
Accommodation:
Only a few resorts are available in Malshej Ghat.MTDC runs a resort in Malshej Ghat.They have online booking facility[www.maharashtratourism.gov.in/].If you are going with family best place to stay is MTDC.One more resort is Su-Shant (Contact no : +919527007475/+919527007374 ).During July-September period it is hard to find a room. One needs to book it in advance.
In Malshej Ghat we willn’t find any taxis/Cabs for hire. One need to hire from Kalyan/Pune.We need carry a rain coat as one can’t predict when it rains there & good to carry trekking wear. It is best place for nature/landscape photographers. Don’t forget to carry a decent camera (SLR camera is the best option) to take wonderful pictures.
Best Time To Visit: July – August. Post monsoon is the best time .
How to reach Malshej Ghat:
Road : From Pune JN it is around 140 Km and 90 Km from Kalyan JN.
Rail :Nearest rail head is Kalyan JN. It is well connected to various cities across the country.
Air : Pune Air port is the nearest one.
